D-4. Outreach and Workforce Services for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunityâ€™s State Monitor Advocate will be discussing the role of the monitor advocate and the agencyâ€™s outreach program and workforce services for migrant and seasonal farmworkers. A brief overview of the H-2A Temporary Agricultural Program will be presented to provide a basic understanding. The Program Specialist from the Florida Department of Educationâ€™s Farmworker Jobs and Education Program will be providing an overview of the National Farmworker Jobs Program, emergency assistance for migrant and seasonal farmworkers, and heat stress and pesticide training opportunities.
