B-4. Using Information Sources and Community Agencies to Locate Migrant Families and Youth

Strategies for Identification, Recruitment, and Service Delivery

Using new National Agricultural Workers Survey data, other information sources and community study findings, the panelists will share insights about migration trends and migrant integration policies, and their implications for recruiting and responding to the education needs of migrant-eligible youth.
The panel will: 1) Provide an overview of changes in the migrant farmworker population; 2) Identify information sources that can help improve understanding of qualifying work and moves; and 3) Examine the particular needs of in-school and out-of-school migrant youth who may be eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and how DACA can impact their future educational success.
